Ganymed Original Lithographs

L.S. Lowry

R.B.A., R.A.

These are original lithographs, drawn for the purpose, and not existing in any other form.
They have been published in limited editions of 75.
Each copy is numbered and has been signed by L.S.Lowry.
All lithographs are printed in black with a tint background.
Number 1 and 2 have been printed from zinc plates by Mr G.F. Grace, London.
Numbers 3 to 16 have been printed from the stone by M.E. Wolsensberger, A.G. Zurich.

Lowry always explained to curious clients why he felt a drawing was as important, if not more important than a painting.
He felt it could be more effective and dramatic; also it was more difficult to achieve a satisfactory result in black and white,
as there were no colours that could be used to cover up and hide mistakes.
